| This couple practiced a spiritual path whose leader suggested they get married, and they did! Perhaps the Teacher saw something karmic in them that needed a firm relationship to work out. They weren’t even dating. The 1st, 7th, and 8th Houses are the pertinent ones to examine for relationship, and we see Jack with an emphasis on the 7th-8th Houses with Capricorn Jupiter and Sun, but his first House contains Uranus near his Ascendant that bespeaks an independent and non-marrying nature. His more staid Sun does not feel comfortable in harness. First it was hard for him to agree to union, then hard to stay with it. Jill who exhibited a fierce temper (8th House Mars square Saturn) challenged his natural Capricorn tendency to dominate his partner. No chance. A major significant statement of a chart and a person are the South and North Nodes. These describe us so fully that hours can be spent just delineating their immense meaning in a person’s character and Karmic direction. Jill is simultaneously leaning about de-emphasizing focus on herself to care about her partner, while she’s developing the strength and confidence to improve her self-image and feeling of self-worth. A powerful challenge to Hubby’s Uranus! One method for seeing what is likely for their relationship is to compare their planets. His earthy Mercury that likes practical, sensible, and even restrained thought would clash with her light, changeable, possibly superficial thinking that would find his thought ponderous & restrictive. This applies to their values of their two Suns as well. Their Venuses have incompatibility too as hers stresses being mothered with tenderness while his subjects emotions to ideas & demands for freedom; he probably would travel away from her a lot. (He does.) And both Mars are in trenchant conflict, both in the 8th, and in heavy square, once again attacking his independence (Aquarius) while his aloof attitudes uproot her Taurian securities and make her feel crazy. She seems nuts to him; he seems cold to her, so she screams and throws tantrums.

This style shows easily how Jill’s planet is in Jack’s House and how her planetary energies in that area aspect his. She influenced the setting up of a running symposium of international speakers on spiritual growth. She offered continual expansion of his earthy urges to bring in humanitarianism. If he found this distracting, Astrology can help him know it’s for his benefit and incline him to accept what she offers. The fact that her Libran Ascendant make a harmonious trine to his ascendant and Uranus lets me know they have a meeting ground in the group work, and that she contributes to refining his outlook. She also can let her energies towards society soothe his Uranian independence by channeling it productively–and playful way, her Ascendant, Moon, & Neptune all being in his 5th House of playfulness and creativity. His physical malady, lung problems (Gemini Ascendant) are exacerbated by his 6th House Chiron “wound” which is about clinging to his own views tenaciously, though those view may include NOT picking a spiritual focus. He may dither away his energies by scooting from one ideas to another, all the while rejecting each and every one. Thus the Issue for 1st House Uranus (arrogance) seems to have come out in the lungs. Humility is one solution. Another solution or at least aid is Jill’s Cancer Venus in his 1st House. If he can absorb her nurture and learn how to nurture her, then their fights will diminish, and both will gain enormously. Rich, deep nurture could even reverse his lung difficulties!
